High School

Life Christian Academy has embarked on an exciting new educational track.  We have co-opted with Rose State College to offer our students the opportunity to complete college level courses for both high school and college credit.  While Dual Credit (DC) course offerings are becoming more prevalent, our program at LCA offers advantages and benefits.  Rather than studying independently, your child will receive personalized classroom instruction throughout the school year.

For those who qualify, our Seniors will have the opportunity to take DC English 1213, DC American Federal Government, DC General Physical Science, and DC General College Mathematics or College Algebra. The qualifications for a Senior to take the Dual Credit courses are as follows: a minimum Composite Score on the ACT of 19 or a 3.0 high school GPA. In addition the student must score a 19 in the English section in order to take the DC English, a 19 in the Reading section to take the DC American Federal Government, a 19 in the Science section to take the DC General Physical Science, and a 19 in the Math section to take the DC General College Math or a 21 to take the DC College Algebra.

Our Juniors who qualify will have the opportunity to take DC English 1113, DC American History to 1877, DC Physiology/Anatomy, and DC General College Mathematics. The qualifications for a Junior to take the Dual Credit courses are as follows: a minimum Composite Score on the ACT of 21 or a 3.5 high school GPA. In addition the student must score a 19 in the subject area of the course to be taken.

The students who qualify will be taken to Rose State College on Monday and Wednesday from 9:15am to 12:15pm and remain on our campus Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Our students will receive instruction from our teachers in addition to the Rose State professor for each course.
All students, who do not qualify or choose not to take a Dual Credit Course, will remain on our campus, receive the same instruction from our teachers, and be enrolled in a High School Honors Program.
