LCA elementary
students celebrated National Young Reader's Day by
participating in a Read-a-thon.

Several parents came in costume
and read to students. Students paired with partners to
share books and were involved in many special reading
activities.

Thanks to all the teachers for
their organization of the day and to the parents who
participated.
2nd Reading Challenge
Winners
LCA students have completed
their 2nd reading challenge of the year. 89% of all
students in Kindergarten through 6th grade met their
reading goal. Special congratulations go to the
kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grade for having 100% of
students reach their goal.
Students and teachers also
enjoyed the annual Read-A-Thon on November 13. Parents,
teachers and other friends of LCA came and read to
students. It was a special treat for students and
teachers to wear their pajamas to school on this day.
Students also had lots of time to read silently and
discuss books with classmates.
