Volleyball - 2008 High School State Champs
The Life Christian Academy Lady Eagles claimed the Oklahoma Christian Schools Class 2A High School Volleyball Championship on October 9 at Destiny Christian School in Del City.
Said Coach Andrew Mericle, “It was a tremendous finish to the year. Our regular season record was not great because we played a brutal schedule, but in the end that helped us achieve the toughness needed for the State Tournament! I give credit to our athletic director, Loy Hill, for having confidence in us and credit to our ladies for never losing focus on the ultimate goal we set back in July at training camp.”
Coach Donna Bear added, “It has really been an incredible season. We struggled some during the regular season as we consistently “played up” instead of playing in our class. Nevertheless, I saw glimpses of champions all along and we were blessed enough to have everything and everyone pull together at the end. We give God the glory for our victory!”
Captain Julia Lomheim and co-captain Britney Montgomery earned All-Tournament honors.
